Why would you ever treat and subject your customer base to such a customer service shipping nightmare? Why would you ship ANYTHING “ FED EX SMARTPOST “ AND TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS TO SUCH SHIPPING DELAYS? WHY WOULD ANYONE BUY ANYTHING FROM YOUR WEBSITE?, AGAIN, JUST REALIZE WHAT I SAID AND LET IT SINK IN 12 days WAIT PERIOD TO RECEIVE A PACKAGE THAT HAS to travel a route that is 5 hours BY TRUCK. Item is located in Groveport Ohio, which is 5 hours away from Buffalo NY, Now here it is March 25th, 9 days later AFTER I PLACED MY ORDER and FedEx tracking says : Thursday, Ma2:15 PM BUFFALO NY DISTRIBUTION CENTER In transit In transit to local Post Office - Allow two to three additional days for delivery So, I may not receive my jacket for another 2-3 days, possibly not until March 28th.That would mean item took 12 days, to travel a route that is 5 hours by a motorized vehicle. To the upper mgt team at Eddie Bauer : I purchased online a ski parka jacket on March 16th. To the upper mgt team at Eddie Bauer: HOW DARE YOU! This is the first time I've shopped at Eddie Bauer in some time and I can tell you I won't be shopping with them again due to the sheer hassle. I have now lost my will to deal with this company. This cannot possibly be any more ineffecient. In this day and age, Eddie Bauer's policy is to return the item, wait for the company to receive it, wait for them to issue me a refund (minus shipping of course), then I have to go back online to place another order. The second time I thought this would get taken care of, but it didn't. It was almost comical but a huge time waster. And she repeated everything she was saying. Every bit of information I gave her had to be repeated. Twice, because the first overseas call center rep kept talking in circles, repeating herself over and over again, "So I can confirm your email address." Yes, I have given it to you twice and it matches what is on my order. I had to call customer service twice because there was no option to do this online. It didn't fit so I tried to exchange it for another size. What a ridiculous anti-customer service driven company this is. To bring this review full circle - I like the clothing, shipping is slow, and if I didn't have a store nearby I wouldn't purchase online. Have tried "chat," phone and email contact with Customer Service. They're either untruthful or incompetent and seem to say anything to get you off the phone. (The staff there is great by the way.) Customer Service is simply terrible useless. (This was the case long before Covid issues.) If a garment isn't sized properly I drive to their Reno store. Still takes days or weeks before the company actually ships my order. I've tried paying extra for one of the faster shipping options. Takes them days, sometimes weeks to get an order out the door. I like the clothing, but shipping is frustrating. I'm offered free shipping because I place a number of orders during the year. I'm old now and don't drive much, so I ordinarily place orders through their website. I've purchased EB's clothing for decades.
